Fit Training Opportunities

Steve Hogg ApprovedThere is a large amount of information on this site that will potentially benefit cyclists and bike fitters.  What you won’t find is the key ingredient to Steve’s success as a bike fitter.  That ingredient is (patent pending) techniques developed over many years by Steve that need a brief explanation:

The major way a human interacts with Planet Earth is with their feet.  It is also through the feet that a cyclist transfers the power they develop to the bike they ride.  Steve can demonstrate that no one has clear proprioceptive awareness of their feet.  This lack of clarity means that the Central Nervous System has to compensate for this lack of information in any activity where we bear weight on, or exert force with out feet; cycling, walking, running, skiing etc.  The compensatory mechanisms that each human autonomically evolves have wide individual variance but in ALL cases the price the individual pays for compensating is an increased tendency to function asymmetrically via a pelvic shift.  In a positional sense, a bike is symmetrical so any unnecessary increase in asymmetry reduces performance and increases the tendency to overuse injury because each side of the body has to function differently.  Steve’s patent pending methods of quantifying and restoring proprioceptive clarity from the feet resolve or moderate these asymmetric compensatory patterns.  They require a lot of skill to apply but eliminate the need for any educated guess work in key areas of bike fitting.  They also have enormous potential to improve function and symmetry during the ‘off the bike’ portion of a fit client’s life.

Those skills can be learned, and Steve is prepared to teach the right people.

Who are the right people?

  • Bike fitters with demonstrated experience who have realised the short comings of formula methods.
  • Bike fitters who are prepared to spend two to four weeks with us, one on one with Steve.
  • Bike fitters who are prepared to live, eat and breathe bike fitting during their time with us.
  • Bike fitters who want the best tools available to benefit their clients.
  • People with good knowledge of functional anatomy, cycling equipment and bike fitting. As a starting point you will need a minimum of 2 out of 3.

We are not interested in training everyone.  Only those who are interested enough and motivated enough to want to be exceptional bike fitters.  This is not a week end course where you pay your money and get your certificate.  There are standards you will have to meet.  What we are offering is the real deal.
